About the writer

My name is Syed Jaafar bin Syed Aznan from the Jamalullail family of Perak. I was born in Parit Buntar, Perak in 1947. I spent my early childhood days in various villages and towns in Perak, until I was admitted to the University of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 1967. I joined the civil service in 1970 and in 1997 I was appointed as Vice-President of the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah. I retired in July, 2009.
I have never been a member of any political party in Malaysia.
